Get Your "Never-Ending Motivation" Here!
by Ken Leonard Jr.
People often ask me, "Ken, I can't seem to get motivated some
times. How do you stay motivated every day, even when you don't
feel like working, or when things aren't going so well?". The
answer I give them can be the difference in YOU getting what
you want out of life, or not. It is your answer, if you have
low or inconsistent motivation.
You have to ask yourself a very serious question. "What do I
want out of life?" If you could do or have anything, what would
it be? Is this something that you've dreamed about for a long
time? Attaining this "ultimate goal", and enjoying it, getting
or doing that one thing that you've always wanted, is your
answer. This is "The Big Picture". This will give you never-
ending motivation to achieve the major things you want in life.
This is the answer to those people's question, and to yours.
"Well, how can I see The Big Picture?" you may ask. If you do
three things, YOU can see your Big Picture, and be motivated to
make it happen like never before.
What you need to do is define what your ultimate want is. Be
very specific. Now you need to envision yourself in that
situation, just like you are looking at a television program.
See yourself enjoying the benefits of attaining that ultimate
dream. When you can see yourself in that situation, half the
battle is over.
Once you can see your future lifestyle, it's time to create a
list of some concrete goals to get you to your Big Picture.
This list will be your game plan, your motivator, and your
progress tracker all in one package. Establish goals for your
progress in the short-term, medium-range and long-range time
periods. It is essential that you write these goals on paper.
Have a weekly session (I think Sunday is a good day for this)
to review your progress, re-evaluate goals where needed, and
come up with a fresh plan for the week.
The rate at which you achieve your short-term goals will
determine how fast you reach your medium- and long-range goals.
If you don't reach a goal, that's OK. Just set the bar a little
lower next week, achieve that goal, and set a higher goal for
next week.
This idea of setting and reaching goals is not meant to put
undue pressure on you. It is just an organized and effective
way to get things done, where you can monitor your progress
every step of the way. Don't kill yourself or stress out. When
you finally get the idea, you will be getting a lot more done,
and you will be feeling great.
The other important piece of the motivation puzzle is a great
attitude. Being positive will allow you to see your Big Picture
more easily, keeping your motivation high. Maintaining your
great attitude will keep you going when you don't reach your
short-term goals right away. There will always be ups and downs
in any business venture, or life in general for that matter. A
positive person makes it through the tough times, to enjoy the
fruits of having a great attitude and the success that it
brings.
What benefits do you get from being able to see the Big
Picture? Only everything that you need to be a success at your
home-based business, that's all. You will have better focus on
the important tasks at hand. This means less frustration,
because you are getting more done. And you can see the progress
by keeping track of your goals weekly. You will achieve these
goals, and find yourself with more time for doing profitable
tasks, like marketing. You will even find yourself with more
time for you and your family to spend together. Now you are
getting closer to the Big Picture. The never-ending motivation
will help you to attain your dreams. That's the bottom line.
That's why you are reading this, right? To get what you want!
Now that you can see the Big Picture, your success is virtually
guaranteed. You have seen what many cannot. Take the ultimate
dream, and know that it is attainable. Just remember to keep
your eyes on the Big Picture, and never lose sight of it. As
long as you don't give up, you are sure to get what you want.
